What’s In Store for the 2010/2011 Academic Year

Another year, another lineup of exciting lectures! This year is shaping up to be an exciting one for the IID!  Throughout the Fall semester we will be hosting a number of lectures on a variety of topics such as:

  • Canadian National Security
  • The Question of North Korea
  • Governance and Radicalization in Somalia
  • Canada’s Record in Afghanistan

In keeping with a new IID tradition, with the Winter semester will come a new special series as a follow up to the success of last year’s Prospects for Peace: a forum on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. This year we will be looking at India-Pakistan, hosting experts from across the globe and addressing such issues as:

  • Kashmir
  • Nuclear Weapons
  • Islamic Radicalization
  • The Role of Women in Government and Society
  • The Region’s Relationship with the West

Our first lecture of the year will be a look at Canadian National Security with Ryerson’s own Dr. Arne Kislenko and Dr. Lorne Dawson from the University of Waterloo. Please join us Wed. September 29, 2010 from 6:30 – 8:30 in ENG 103. More information to come!
